Professional Pilot | Aviation Photographer
About Me
Hello! My name is Brian. I am a professional pilot and aviation photographer.
Before my venture into aviation, I had a decade-long career in IT. I worked for Apple for a few years, and then for a local university as a systems administrator. Realizing I did not want to spend the rest of my life sitting at a computer desk, I pursued a career as an airline pilot.
I started learning to fly at a small flight school out of McKinney National Airport KTKI in McKinney TX. Shortly after my first solo, they went bankrupt and ceased operations. Instead of finding another flight school I bought a white and blue Piper Cherokee 140 that I used to travel the country while I built time and trained for my pilot certificates.
As I approached 700 hours, I was able to secure a job as a First Officer for a Part 135 EAS airline. I was based out of Hot Springs AR and flew between DFW and MEM, with occasional trips to DEN and ATL.
At around 1300 hours, I moved to California to fly UPS feeder cargo out of the Sacramento area. I spent a year flying cargo all over NorCal in the Cessna Caravan.
Shortly after surpassing 2000 hours of total flight time, I accepted a job as a First Officer with a domestic cargo airline flying the Boeing 757 and 767.
Becoming a pilot has brought me more joy than I could have imagined. I have met some incredible people along the way, and I want nothing more than to share my passion with others.
If you have an interest in learning to fly, or want to learn more about becoming a pilot, please don't hesitate to reach out on Instagram! I'll try to answer any questions to the best I can.
